Bogdan, Eva

Program Alumni

Bio

Eva Bogdan has been studying and practicing at the intersection of society and environment - touching on topics such as floods, fuels, food, and farming - around the world in the Netherlands, Namibia, New Zealand, and various parts of Canada. Broadly, she is interested in how diverse and potentially competing sets of values, viewpoints, and interests are deliberated and decided upon in natural resource management and risk management. She is currently completing her PhD at the University of Alberta examining perceptions and practices of flood management in her province (Alberta) and in the Netherlands. To gain a more holistic understanding of the socio-political complexities in which environmental issues are embedded, she also obtained degrees in environmental science and sociology, as well as certificates in adult education, local government administration (NACLAA I), economic development, and community-based research and evaluation.
