Bio
Dr. Maricor Arlos is an Assistant Professor (started April 2020) at UAlberta. Although her roots and skillsets are in environmental engineering (contaminant fate and transport), she has completed a diversity of projects that spans environmental chemistry, nanotechnology, and aquatic ecotoxicology. As a water researcher, I have always been fascinated by the tools available to assess water quality but noticed the highly fragmented approach that we currently employ for exposure assessment. Hence, I plan to incorporate a more coherent approach to understanding exposure. Hence, I have included methods in environmental chemical analysis, bioanalytical tools, and modelling in my research portfolio. By combining these tools, I can synthesize exposure information better, and contribute to a more comprehensive approach to assessing the impacts of contaminant dynamics in the aquatic environment.
