Fan, Xiaoli

Bio

Xiaoli Fan is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Resource Economics and Environmental Sociology, University of Alberta. Xiaoli received her PhD (2017) degree from the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, Cornell University and her MA (2009) and BA (2017) degrees in international economics from Wuhan University, China. Xiaoli’s research focuses on understanding consumer and producer behaviour to better inform agricultural policies and decision-making. Xiaoli has led the economic research of several multidisciplinary projects studying consumer acceptance of novel food products and farmer adoption of environmentally friendly production practices/technologies. She is a member of the board of directors of the Canadian Agricultural Economics Society. She is also on the Editorial Board of the journal Canadian Journal of Agricultural Economics.
