High-emission industries, such as cement manufacturing, produce flue gases with higher CO₂ concentrations and impurities compared to power plants, posing unique challenges for CO₂ separation. The present research project will aim to design, optimize and ensure the economic feasibility of multi-stage PSA systems for CO2 capture in heavy-emission industrial sectors such as cement manufacturing. This project intends to combine process modelling, process economics and machine learning algorithms for optimization in order to build a robust framework of multi-stage PSA systems capable of adapting to different industrial applications.
