Policy on contributions to event collaboration
Background
Future Energy Systems (FES) Office is regularly approached by FES researchers and external organizations with requests to partner in organizing events. Requests include providing staff support, speakers or funding or securing venues. FES will consider these requests according to the criteria below.
Purpose
To provide guidelines regarding requests for FES support in organizing events.
Eligibility
Applications will be considered from FES researchers and external institutions including government, government agencies, not-for profits and industry.
FES Contributions
FES may be able to offer financial support or in-kind resources such as providing meeting rooms, web space or staff time to help with event organization, public relations, administration or information technology needs.
In deciding whether to partner FES will consider the following:
- Availability of resources.
- Alignment with the FES scope and mandate.
- Benefits to FES (strategic importance of the topic or requesting institution, partnering opportunities, profile building, outreach potential).
- Leverage opportunity (contributions from other sources of funding).
- Opportunities for involvement of FES researchers.
Application Process
FES will accept applications on an ongoing basis.

Decision Making
Decisions will be made by the FES executive team within 15 days of the request.
